Supreme Court of India is the highest and final court of appeal established by constitution of India. Due to social transformation in India Supreme Court of India is applying innovative approaches to provide justice for weaker section of society which was chief goal of Constitution framers. For being a guardian of constitution it has tried to abolish social evils from Indian society.
Building of Supreme court is in Indo-British style which was designed by Ganesh Bhikaji Deolikar. The Supreme court of India comprises the chief justice of India and not more than thirty other judges appointed by the President of India.
In 2007 justice K. G. Balakrishnan was first dalit Chief Justice of India, and now justice S. H. Kapadia is Chief Justice of Supreme Court. The Supreme Court of India has original, appellate and advisory jurisdiction under Article 32, 131 and 114 of the Constitution.
